Description of technique:
My son's good friend, Jimmy, was being picked on by a group of boys on the way home from school in the afternoons. He decided to wait every afternoon for Jimmy to come out of the school and walk with him to a point past where the bullies seemed interested in following. This way Jimmy was never alone and without help if the bullies decided to pick on him, and when they did, my son would run back to the school to get help from the Vice Principal. It seemed to work, eventually the bullies stopped picking on Jimmy--I guess it was only fun for them if he was alone and vulnerable. And Jimmy wasn't so frightened by them so he was more brave in walking away from their taunts, etc. They were in 6th through 7th grades of a middle school (6-8) when this was happening.
