4 Star Game Rating

Appropriate for ages:
4 and up

Board game description/strategy:
There are 18 different pictures on the board. Player lifts one playing piece/cover off of any 2 pieces on the board, trying for a matching pair. The player to match the most pictures wins the game.

Learning skills addressed by this game:
It's sometimes a little bit o' luck, but concentration and memory are definitely exercised here...especially for tired adults! It's the type of game where any child can easily "stomp" the adult, again and again! ;-) My seven-year-old loves this feeling of Triumph, and cackles and giggles every time we play it.

Other comments about this game:
No Reading Required. Contains small game pieces (choke hazard to children under 3); store w/care.

Child can also play this Alone, for amusement.

There is a top surface to the board, with circles cut out, and a bottom surface, w/small pictures that show through those cut-outs. 36 pictures, 18 possible pairings, and 36 playing pieces to cover/lift during play. A spin of the wheel on the Underside changes the Order of the images, so memorizing the entire game board really can't be done; it's like new every time.

(If game pieces get lost, over time, the space you are covering could also be covered by poker chips or pennies, that sort of thing.)

We've had our game for awhile; the box says "copyright 1993, Western Publishing Company, Inc. (Little Golden Books). At that time, it was said to have "tested the skill and luck of children and adults around the world for more than 20 years."
