Directions:
Heat oven to 425°. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt; stir in corn meal. Add eggs, milk, and shortening. Beat with electric mixer until smooth, about 1 minute. Pour into greased 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes.
